Most companies treat advertising as a cost centre — a budget line that marketing spends and finance questions. My experience is different: I built advertising into a revenue line, launching and scaling ad networks from zero to over £2 million in annual revenue within 12 months.
This work was done inside Venntro Media Group, where the challenge was to monetise a massive user base and traffic portfolio beyond subscription revenue. That meant building the ad operations infrastructure from scratch — the tech integrations, the demand partnerships, the yield management processes, and the reporting that made it a credible, scalable revenue stream.
The experience cuts across both sides of the table: buying media to acquire users and monetising attention to generate revenue. That dual perspective is rare and valuable — it means understanding not just how to spend an ad budget, but how to build the systems that make ad spend profitable.
